How to install the Performance Chip?

The Performance Chip simply plugs into the OBDII diagnostic port typically located under the dashboard on the driver’s side. Total installation time is typically 60 seconds or less–No mechanical experience or special tools are required! Will the Performance Chip work with other modifications or tuners?
If I have other modifications in my car, with the Performance Chip still work or hinder the other mods?
Yes, our performance chip technology is a “piggy-back system”, which works with any and all modifications. So you can add as much Turbo and Supercharged mods that you’d like and this Performance Chip is happy to help optimize those further through the ECU and timings.
Are Performance Chips safe for my vehicle?
Is it safe to use this Performance Chip with my vehicle?
Yes, in fact, our Performance Chips are considered safer than factory chips. Our Performance Chips improve the existing factory fuel map, thereby improving the overall efficiency of your vehicle and the feeling of the drive. Now it’s all up to you on how you spend that new power! How long does it take for the Performance Chip to work?
Does it go to work instantly and will the Performance Chip need to remain plugged into the OBDII port?
Your Performance Chip will start working immediately after installation. However, it will require approximately 150 driven miles to fully sync the programming and communications with your vehicle. If you want to be sure you’re getting the results you want, we highly recommend adding the Performance Monitor Kit to your system so you can see the results directly on your phone, in addition to other engine information and alerts, keeping you truly in tune with your car.
Will your Performance Chip void my warranty?
Does adding a Performance Chip put my vehicle warranty at risk?
Performance Chips are safe for your vehicle’s warranty, protected by law under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The vehicle manufacturer cannot simply void your entire vehicle’s warranty due to aftermarket accessories. Due to the nature of warranties and contracts, you, as the customer, are responsible for ensuring these items do not void any part of your vehicle’s warranty. While a loss of any vehicle warranty has never happened as a result of the installation of one of our performance chip products, Chipyourcar.com will not be held responsible for loss of warranty.
If you do have to bring your car into the dealer, simply remove the chip when the car is OFF, and when you start the vehicle there will be no trace the chip was ever plugged in there. This is strongly recommended just to avoid any misdirected efforts on the dealer’s end. Once you leave the Dealer, you can reinstall the Performance Chip and after 150 miles be back running at full optimization again.
Will the lights stay lit on the Performance Chip?
Do I need to keep watch of the lights at all?
The lights are an initial visual indicator the performance chip and ECU are in communication and the software is syncing to your engine’s ECU during that initial 150 Miles. There is no need to monitor the lights as they will likely dim after a short period of time. This does not change the quality of communications between the chip tuning the engine’s ECU.
